Fifteen years ago, on 26 December 2004, a 9.1 magnitude earthquake struck under the India Ocean. A while later the deadly tsunamis triggered the Banda Aceh coast and killed more than 167000 of its inhabitants. People experienced the deadliest natural disaster ever recorded in the history of the world. Besides, Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand also had to face that disaster and cost a huge. Additionally, some other countries also listed were at a relatively lower level of waves stroked namely, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Tanzania, and Kenia.

The earthquake formulated under the Indian Ocean, at the point of the intercontinental tectonic plates. In that epicenter, plates got knocked strongly and produced the deadliest tsunami. First, it stroked to the coast of Sumatra island, Indonesia. Then Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, and even the African coast also and killed more than 230000 people from all these countries. However, people believe the original number of  total death is far more than this

 

Sri Lank and Inda:

It was a series of biggest waves and almost seven hours it had been hitting on coasts of Indian Oceans. One and half hours later of the Aceh tsunami, west coast of Sri Lanka was struck. And almost the same time on the Indian coast also knocked. Some places reported that the waves had reached a height of 30 feet (9 meters) and even more than that. In Sri Lanka, the number of killed was almost 31000 and India reported more than 10000.

Thailand and Other Places:

The Fi Fi island is one of the popular tourist spots of Thailand. When the tsunami struck over there many natives and international tourists were also killed. The total number of deaths was 5500 in Thailand. The waves of the tsunami knocked the maritime of African country Somalia also and killed 300.

Many tourists died in this worst natural calamity. In a sum it will be 2000; besides the total amount of injured people was 500000 and displaced almost 2 million people.

This disaster has changed the scenario of Banda Aceh and turned it into a city of death for a while. The Indonesian government opened the immigration office of Aceh to make sure the easy access to International reliefs and Medical teams. All the countries had broad their helping hands to the affected countries.
