By Bishop Anthony Slater – SAVED News Guest Editorialist — I’ve been in church for a long time, and I have noticed that the trend is terrible. We say we’re Christians and go to church every Sunday, yet we don’t speak to one another. We say that we love God, but we can’t stand our neighbor. If we go to one church, we’ll discredit another church, all in the name of the Lord. How do we claim to worship God, going to church judging what people wear? We are forever studying the Word of God, yet we don’t live it. This is Church Foolishness.
Kingdom Principles are quite different than church foolishness.
Point One: Love One Another. The word of God says this in John 13:35, “Everyone will know by this that you are my disciples – if you have love for one another.”
Point Two: Unify in Love. The word of God also says this in Ephesians 4:16, “For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love. We must be prepared to be different in these last day. Love is the key to everything that we do. Love should cover every fault of your brother, for “love covers a multitude of sin.” (I Peter 4:8)
If you’re sitting in a church, and you are not growing, then you need to seek God’s face. If you are truly doing the will of God you will see it in your life. You should seek God’s face in the midst of what you’re doing; this is the principle of the Kingdom. Jesus came and died so that we may have life, and have it more abundantly, not just church. You must begin to have a personal relationship with God; not merely a relationship with your pastor, your mentor, and even your father. This principle is to seek God first. The scriptures says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all its righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you” Matthew 6:33
How many times have we attended church services, and leave the same way? You must make up in your mind that you are going to be better than you were when you went in the first time. You must make up in your mind, and believe that you are an overcomer; not a status quo, bench warming, dead looking, frozen chosen body, who doesn’t move forward to the next level. According to the scripture everything that has breath should praise the Lord. Psalm 150
This is an alarm that I am sounding. “Arise Kingdom of God. Arise, and Shine. The Lord is come.” It’s time to come together. It’s time for the pastors to come together; it’s time for the people to come together to see the love of God in action. Kingdom principles: God is yet on the throne.
His Grace,
Bishop Anthony W. Slater, Ph.D
