Amazon Rainforest Wildfires

Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio has been working a long time to protect the environment. He is playing an active role to protect the Amazon Rainforest from the recent wildfires. This philanthropist announced $5 million funds to fight against the wildfires in the world’s biggest rainforest on 25th August.

Amazon Rainforest is considered as the world’s lung. But it has been burning for more than two weeks violently by wildfires. Some Latin American countries patronizing agriculture and livestock productions in Amazon area by continuous deforestation. This deforestation accelerates the wildfires.

The National Institute for Space Research in Brazil states that the number of wildfires is beyond the control. Where last year the number of wildfires in the Amazon rainforest was 40,000, but this year till now it has reached more than 72,000.

DiCaprio’s environmental organization Earth Alliance announced a fund to fight against this mishap. The organization will work with indigenous communities and some local development organization who are working on the front lines to protect the Amazon.

Earth Alliance organization states the Amazon is the world’s best protection against the environmental crisis. But now it is burning and producing a huge amount of carbon dioxide instead.

A few hours ago, he posted a photo and wrote Amazon is burning. Now it is time to take action.  Then he asks support with the banner of Earth Alliance for the Amazon Forest Fund.

Earth Alliance shared a video where a group of indigenous people sought help for the Amazon forest where they are living.

However, Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation Earth Alliance has been working to protect the environment for more than 20 years. He is encouraging people to get involved in this movement to protect the earth. In addition, the foundation raised more than $100 million in funds for the climate change movement.
