BBC – A new Christ statue in Encantado, Brazil, will be even larger than Rio’s famous Christ the Redeemer.

It’s currently being built and will be 43m (140 ft) high – making it the third tallest Jesus statue in the world.

Tourists will be able to view the surrounding countryside from an observation platform in the statue’s chest (40m up).

The $350,000 (£255,000) project is expected to be completed later in the year, the Association of the Friends of Christ group which is organising it says.
