Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Credits God for Healing His Ankle ahead of AFC Championship Game

“He healed my body this week to battle through that,” he added. “He gave me the strength to be out here.”
Mahomes, 27, suffered a high ankle injury during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on January 21. He told reporters last Wednesday that his ankle was “doing good” and that he had gone through a “few days of treatment” and “a few days of rehab” before coming back to the practice field.
After Sunday’s game, he thanked assistant trainer Julie Frymyer for helping him heal his ankle throughout the week.
“Julie WAS the reason I was the guy I was on the field today! It takes everyone, but she lead (sic) the charge all week!!! Now let’s get Super Bowl ready!!” the quarterback wrote.
Mahomes’ post was written in response to another post by Chiefs’ Vice President of Sports Medicine and Performance Rick Burkholder, who noted that Frymyer “designed and executed the rehab.”
According to The Christian Post, Mahomes previously credited God for a successful NFL career.
After being awarded the 2019 Most Valuable Player of the Year Award, Mahomes declared, “God is amazing!” Just days before Super Bowl LIV in 2020, which the Chiefs won, Mahomes told a local news outlet that “faith has always been big with me.”
The Chiefs will advance to Super Bowl LVII on February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. They will face the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams are hoping to secure their second championship win.
