Conservative Christians recently criticized Fox News for adding former Olympic athlete and reality star Caitlyn Jenner as a contributor to its network programming.

“Proud to welcome @Caitlyn_Jenner to the Fox News family. She is a kind and wonderful human who fights harder for freedom and American values than most,” Lahren tweeted. “Anyone who says any different likely hasn’t met her or given her a chance. I am proud to call her a friend and now a colleague!”

As reported by Church Leaders, conservative pastors took issue with Fox News’ decision to hire Jenner, who is transgender, amid the media outlet’s conservative stance.

“Jenner is male. In English, we use ‘he’ for males,” Reformed Baptist pastor John Carpenter tweeted in response to Fox News’s post referring to Jenner by a female pronoun. “If you can’t tell the truth about simple biology, how are we supposed to trust you with the news?”

“Dear @FoxNews: The moment Bruce (sic) Jenner appears on my screen on Fox is the moment you join MSNBC and CNN,” theologian James White wrote. “Cancelled. And believe me, I am not alone,” he added.

“A man pretending to be a woman, accepting lies (pronouns) from ostensible conservatives, is an insult in any sane, moral world,” he added.

Ken Peters, the founding pastor of Patriot Church in Lenoir City, TN, also took issue with the network’s use of female pronouns when referring to Jenner, writing, “Fox News just hired Jenner, and they are calling him a ‘her’ officially. This is how Satan wins…Narrative. All he needs is a toe-hold.”

Jenner, who ran for governor in California’s recall election in 2021, is an outspoken conservative. Jenner has publicly backed Texas’ Heartbeat Law, which bans abortions at six weeks of pregnancy, and has openly voiced disapproval of the NCAA’s declaration that transgender athlete Lia Thomas won the 500-yard women’s freestyle swimming championship.

On Thursday evening, Jenner joined Fox News’ Hannity to discuss the current dispute over a Florida parental rights law. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently signed a bill that bans classroom instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation for kindergarten through 3rd-grade students.

“I think in the midterms coming up, LGBT issues are going to be big issues. And I’m looking forward to covering those,” Jenner added. “But there’s so much more to me than that.”

Jenner supported DeSantis’ signing of the bill, which critics have dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay Bill.

“I’m a common-sense person,” the former athlete said, adding, “I’m all for parental rights.”
