The heroic act of rescuing a baby deer from the lake in Texas has gone viral all over the internet.
While Brian Ballard and his wife Liz were out boating over the Tyler Lake, they witnessed something floating in the water. On a keener look, they found out it was a fawn and not a dead fish as they suspected. As an act of kindness and humanity, they immediately jumped in the water and carried the deer up on the deck.
Not very far away, a man named Ashton Byrd on another boat observed the incident and out of curiosity, he started to investigate. Upon discovering what was happening, he jumped to the Ballard’s boat to help.
Byrd described; “It seemed dead, but it had life in its eyes. So I killed the boat and took off my shirt and jumped over to their boat.”
Ballard and Byrd took turns for several minutes and administered CPR on the baby deer until it regained its breath and shakily stood to its feet. Afterward, they took the fawn to a wildlife rehabilitation clinic for treatment. The baby deer is known to be having a speedy recovery and getting more enthusiastic to run and play around.
