Have you ever given much thought to the privileges of the child of God? To have the born-again experience is much more than our Savior offering us forgiveness and peace. While He does that too, it was never His intention for His children to have an experience that didn’t lead them to His greater purposes
2 Peter 1:3 tells us, “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,”
We have everything we need to live the life God created for us. The power He gives by the infilling of His Spirit enables us to overcome sin and resist temptations. It allows us to testify of Him!
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
The Spirit also helps us let go of our fleshly ways and fills our hearts with God’s ways-love, joy, peace, kindness, self-control, and more.
This is just a very small part of the life God has created for those who love Him. There is so much more than what has been mentioned!
While we stop to think about the beauty of the Christian life, let’s also remember the rest! Not only has God created an amazing life for us, but He has created each of us for a purpose in this life.
When was the last time you stopped to think about what God wants you to do? It’s easy to get caught up in the cares of life. We know there are many, and the pressures of the day can consume us.
However, the quote found in Esther is relevant to all of God’s children.
“…who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14
For Esther, it was her purpose to be in the kingdom at that time. She was instrumental in saving an entire race of people!
The truth of the matter is, there is work for everyone when it comes to the kingdom of God. Maybe some of us haven’t given much thought to what we can do lately. Even so, we need to “wake ourselves up” and put out our feelers in prayer and observation.
Who is waiting for someone to tell them that there is a Savior who loves and cares for them?
Who needs a brother or sister to share their heavy burden with?
What situation needs a take-charge man or woman to create a solution?
Who has the health and strength to help a widower or bedridden friend?
These may seem insignificant to some, but I promise you that those who are waiting for each of us to do what God has created us to do (and has also equipped us with power), these things aren’t small at all.
Furthermore, those who are faithful in the little things open themselves up to find their greater purposes in life.
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,” Ephesians 3:20
Let us be thankful for abundant life, what we receive, and what we can offer others!
