One of America’s most popular actors says he’s reading through the Bible for the first time in his life and has been deeply moved by its timeless wisdom. Tim Allen, best known for his roles in Home Improvement, the Toy Story franchise, and the Santa Clause films, made the comments in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that sparked celebration among his many fans of faith.

His post has been viewed over 2 million times and “liked” 100,000 times.

“Never took the time in all my years to ever read and really read the Bible,” Allen said. “Currently almost through the Jerusalem Bible Old Testament and almost done with the Prophets. Next up to the New Testament. So far, amazing and not at all what I was expecting.”

Fans applauded his journey.

“God bless you, Tim & your journey,” one person wrote.

“You have blessed our family with joy and laughter for decades,” another person wrote. “Now, we pray that you and yours would be blessed a 1000-fold with the joy and strength found in the Word of God as He leads you closer to Him.”

Another person wrote with a touch of humor, referencing a line from Allen’s Buzz Lightyear character, “To Corinthians … And Beyond!” California pastor Greg Laurie also commended Allen.

“Whoever built me, this is too much, too weird that it happened by accident,” he told ABC News in 2011. “It didn’t happen by accident.”
