Callie Mitchell, SAVED News International Correspondent, Jerusalem, Israel — It has been more than three months now that we have suffered from terrorist attacks in Israel. The pressure of the current conflict is present, not only bound to the events that take place in the Land, but I also from the battle that is being waged for the hearts of believers of the nations, as so many are captivated by false routes to peace and subtle lies.
One common argument is that only a minority of Muslims is radicalized, and we should have compassion on the peaceful majority. Sadly, what I see in Israel is the “peaceful” majority celebrating the attacks carried out by the minority, and my own observation is confirmed by research. A recent poll conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research indicates that 67 percent of respondents supported stabbing attacks against Israelis as a means to further “Palestinian national interests in ways that negotiations could not.” The attacks could not be carried out without the support of a deceived or complacent majority.
The poll suggests a political tone, that they are desperate for their own State, which liberal pundits believe to be the solution to the conflict. While this is a very common argument, history, and scripture, indicates that this conflict is rooted in something much deeper than politics.
If a Palestinian State the solution, it could have been formed six times over!
The 1937 Peel Commission, the 1947 UN Partition Plan, 1967 at Khartoum, 2000 at Camp David, 2001 at Taba, and most recently the 2008 Olmert Plan all formulated dividing the land into both a Jewish and Palestinian State. Interestingly, it was the Palestinian leadership, not Israeli, which was the rejecting party in each plan. In the core of their Muslim belief, they do not want a state for the sake of “self determinism” as the humanist worldview suggests. What they want is to see Israel annihilated, which I plan to write more about later this year. Sadly, liberalism around the world is empowering this position.
While their lack of willingness to compromise and form their own state is rooted in hate, the hardened hearts toward the offers presented has been certainly been an act of God’s grace, not only toward Israel, but also toward our Muslim neighbors and nations through out the world. The bible tells us in Joel 3:2 that it is a sin to divide God’s Land. All nations who do so will face judgment. Because they have rejected the offers granted, all nations involved in the “peace process” have been saved from a measure of judgment from the Lord.
We know from God’s word that all nations will rage against Israel at the end of the age. The bible does not make an exception for America, but as believers we still have everything we need to live a godly life through knowledge of Him (2 Peter 1:3). In the midst of the chaos, we need to stand firm in truth about Israel, and I hope this mini apologetic helped to arm you for the battle!
