“I’ve never done anything like this. I’ve never done a collaboration like this ever,” Chris Tomlin told Fox News.
Tomlin’s music is reaching heights. Now that he has teamed up with some finest country musicians like Lady A, Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgia Line, Brett Young, Brian Kelley, Tyler Hubbard, Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, Dave Haywood, Russell Dickerson, Chris Lane, RaeLynn, Cassadee Pope, Bear Rinehart and many more. Different songs from the album featured pairs of artists or more in each.
“I am so excited to finally get to share this music. The project has been unbelievable and unlike anything I have ever done before. Relationships, friendships, and collaborations have been a gift. For me, the best part is that everyone created this music to bring glory to God. What a joy it has been to do this with friends; writing songs and telling stories that we hope will move people in a new way.” The “reaching for you” singer expressed to Musicrow.
The unplanned, candid jams with friends led to an outstanding work of art. While Tomlin and a few were just having fun with lyrics and tunes, he invited most other talented musicians to record together and make it a special one. To this Chris narrated to Fox News; “Halfway through the process, I thought, ‘I gotta start bringing [these songs] to the people that actually have a say in on this. And that’s been really fun to see.”
While Hubbard among the team expressed to Musicrow that it is a very meaningful project to them, Kelly further added that their friendship turned into brotherhood throughout the process of creating something divine and getting together to write in the studio.
Thank you Lord:
The “Thank you Lord” singer described; “Everyone brought their own unique experiences and talents to the table and it’s what made the songs and their message so relatable and powerful. One of my personal hopes for this album is to take a step towards bridging Christian music and all other genres. I believe themes about faith and God are relevant and needed regardless of the style of music or streaming platform genre classification.”
13 purifying country songs, assorted with the touch of Glorious God and A-list artists- that’s what the album “Chris Tomlin and friends” is all about.
