Saul Scruggs and Keon Richardson are two dedicated garbage men who haven’t missed a single day of work in their career even during this worldwide pandemic. However, according to the people of Miami Beach, they are a lot more like family than just garbage men. Hence, they arranged them a “thank you” surprise as a token of appreciation.

Jennifer Elegant, a resident of Miami Beach, initiated this surprise for these heroes on a Friday among their two weekdays at work. All the people of North Bay road gathered on the sides of the street and cheered Thank you, clapped and screamed for their celebration as they welcomed them. They had placards, gifts, and gratitude letters in hand. Young or old, everybody was their fan.

Present at the celebration were also their directors, supervisors, and even the mayor, Den Gelber, and president of Miami Beach with an official declaration of appreciation towards them.

Local news, WPLG local 10, covered this incident where Alan Weisberg, the president of Miami Beach. Said; “we are here to celebrate two of our sanitation workers who just really make our days brighter every day when we see them.”

Saul and Keon broke into tears as they thanked back the people’s effort and modestly told them how it wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for their warmth.

In an interview with GNN, Jennifer and others mentioned a few stories about how Saul once spent 45 minutes digging up to find a neighbor’s lost ring and is also always there if somebody is sick and needs help.

The world will be a far better place with people like Keon and Saul.
